(Well, not quite true; there's a difference in the reaction to being around or being given DOGFOOD and CADAVERs. But for the purposes of what they _can_ eat, they're the same.) For a carnivore: Good food: meaty corpses, tripe, non-cockatrice eggs If hungry: non-meaty non-fungal corpses (jellies etc), "people food" Can't handle: apple, orange, pear, melon, banana, carrot, wolfsbane, garlic, For a herbivore: Good food: apple, carrot (banana if ape), fungus If hungry: garlic, banana, orange, pear, melon, wolfsbane, Can't handle: non-fungal corpses, tripe, eggs, "people food" For an omnivore: Good food: tripe, eggs, meaty or fungal corpses, apples, carrots If hungry: everything else "people food" being all rations, royal jelly, cream pies, fortune cookies, candy bars, pancakes and lembas wafers. There's other stuff about which metals metallivorous monsters prefer and other odd cases, but that should cover most of it.
