When monsters select a weapon, they will first prefer a cockatrice corpse,
if they can safely wield one.  The next choices are a tsurugi or runesword,
but these don't appear randomly in the game (they are the base objects for
the Tsurugi of Muramasa and Stormbringer).  So the best "normal weapon" is
their next choice, the dwarvish mattock.
